Custom & Customs Documents

We point out that we cannot advise on specific customs regulations in a particular recipient country. If you are in doubt about what you may send, we advise you to contact the customs authorities of the country in question.

My shipment is detained at customs - what do I do?
In the event that your shipment is detained at customs, the recipient has presumably already received an e-mail with instructions from the relevant subcontractor's customs department. It is important that the recipient reacts to the information sent by replying in writing via e-mail or by telephone, after which the person concerned will be guided on how to release the shipment.

NB: the sender cannot contact the Customs Agency on behalf of the recipient.

How do I complete my customs document?
Attached to your order confirmation you will find instructions for completing the customs document, as there are several things that are important to be aware of.

First of all, be aware that the customs document must be completed in English. The value of the shipment's contents must be stated in US dollars per unit, i.e. you must convert the total value of your shipment into US dollars regardless of the package's destination. Reason for export must also be selected.

In addition, it is important that your description of content is listed in Tariff/HS codes. These customs codes are used to calculate customs duties and other taxes on goods that are imported and exported, and are necessary to get the customs document approved by the Customs Authority. You can search and find the tariff/HS codes on the contents of your shipment at hskoder.dk

If you are sending to businesses, we recommend that you enter the company's CVR number, as this makes it easier to get the shipment through customs.

Finally, remember to print three copies of the customs document. One copy is attached to the shipment, while the other two are given to the driver upon collection. If you have to go down and hand over your shipment yourself, attach all three copies to the package.

Please also note that many countries have strict regulations for the import and export of certain product groups. It is therefore a good idea to check whether there are specific requirements for the goods you wish to import or export before sending your shipment.

I don't know the exact value of my shipment's contents?
If you do not know the exact value of your shipment's contents, we recommend that you enter the estimated value in US dollars. Please note that it is not possible to enter a value of less than 1 US dollar.

I have already completed my customs document, but have discovered an error - what do I do?
If you have made a mistake or want to add to your customs document, please call our customer service via the contact details below. They can guide you on how to correct your customs document, depending on which subcontractor handles your shipment.

Can I avoid having to pay customs duty on my shipment?
All customs authorities have different rules for import and export, and it can therefore be difficult to find out when customs duty must or must not be paid. As a starting point, however, you must always expect to pay customs duty.

Even if you send gifts, you are not guaranteed to be exempt from customs duty on your shipment, as it often depends on the value of the contents of the shipment whether it is subject to a customs duty. In some cases, this also applies to product samples. The amount limit is administered by the individual country's customs administration.

As the sender, can I pay the customs duty?
Depending on which subcontractor handles your shipment, in some cases it will be possible for the sender to pay the customs duty on a shipment. If possible, this will appear on the shipment's track & trace. However, in the vast majority of cases it is only the recipient who can handle the contact with the customs authority in the recipient country in question. We advise you to contact our customer service for further information on this.
